홍콩정부는, 홍콩에서 구속한 피의자를 중국 본토로 송환할 수 있도록 홍콩’범죄인인도법(송환법)’을 개정하는 법안을 발의하였다. 이에 홍콩시민들은 2019. 3. 31. 시위를 시작으로 2019. 6. 12. 100만 명이 넘는 인원이 저항권 행사에 나섰다. 결국 홍콩행정장관 캐리 람은 자유를 갈망하는 시민들의 바램에 굴복하여 송환법 개정을 무기한 연기하였다. 이 법안이 통과되었다면 홍콩에서 구속된 홍콩 국적의 피의자는 본인의 의사에 반하여 중국본토로 송환돼 공산국가의 사법제도하에서 재판을 받게 되었을 것이다. 홍콩시민들의 목숨을 건 절규가 “자유”민주주의를 지켜낸 것이다.

중국공산당의 대외적 입장은 “1국 2체제”를 보장하는 것이다. 만일 개정법이 시행되면 공산독재전체주의를 반대하는 홍콩의 정치범들은 사법권의 독립이 보장되지 않는 중국본토로 송환되어 재판 받게 된다. 명백히 숙청의 도구로 남용될 수 있었다. 송환법 개정 시도는, 중국 공산당의 “1국 2체제”보장이라는 감언은 허울뿐이고 실상은 “1국 1체제” 즉, 공산독재전체주의 체제만을 인정하여 체제에 반하는 자는 제거함으로써 홍콩의 자치권을 실질적으로 인정하지 않겠다는 속내를 드러낸 것이다.

이미 2015년 중국공산당의 음흉한 속내를 경험한 홍콩의 시민들은 중국의 의도를 모를 리 없었다. 홍콩소재 코즈웨이베이 서점은 중국 공산당을 비판하는 서적을 판매하던 중 2015. 10. 12.경 서점 관련자 5명이 실종되었다. 실종된 5명은, 코즈웨이베이 서점을 소유한 출판사 마이티 커런트 미디어의 대주주 구이민하이(桂民海), 코즈웨이베이 서점장 람윙케이(林榮基), 마이티 커런트 미디어의 총경리 뤼보(呂波), 업무매니저 청지핑(張志平), 마이티 커런트 주주 리보(李波) 등인데, 실종된 것이 아니라 중국본토에 억류된 후 재판을 받았던 사건이다. 홍콩의 헌법인 홍콩기본법은 중국 본토 경찰의 홍콩에서의 법 집행권을 부정한다. 그럼에도 불구하고 중국 본토로 홍콩시민들이 강제 송환되어 재판까지 받자 홍콩시민들은 엄청난 충격을 받았다.

홍콩의 시민들은, 이미 “자유”를 경험하였고 공산독재체제 하의 재판은 사법권의 독립, 재판의 공정성, 법치주의는 물론 신변의 안전도 보장 받을 수 없다는 것을 너무나 잘 알기 때문에, 중국 공산당의 음흉한 의도에 대하여 분연히 일어났다. “자유”를 경험한 시민들은, 남녀노소를 불문하고 검정색 옷을 입고 카네이션을 들어 자유 수호에 동참하였고 마침내 송환법의 개정을 저지하였다. 시민들의 힘으로 막강한 중국 공산독재전체주의로부터 자유민주주의와 시민의 자유를 지켜냈다.

이에 기독자유당은 대한민국의 자유를 수호하는 정당으로서 자유민주주의를 지켜낸 홍콩시민들을 응원하며 홍콩의 자유민주주의 체제의 유지와 홍콩시민들의 자유를 위하여 기도할 것임을 밝힌다. 또한 “인권”과 “민주”를 부르짖으면서도 정작 자유를 향한 홍콩시민들의 눈물겨운 희생과 승리에 중국의 눈치만 보며 침묵하는, 더불어 민주당, 정의당 등의 좌파정당뿐만 아니라 우파정당인 자유한국당에게도 실망감을 표하며, 비겁한 태도를 버리고 지지선언에 동참할 것을 강력히 촉구한다. 만일 이에 응하지 않는다면 당신들의 정당 명에서 지금 즉시 “민주”와 “자유”와 “정의”를 삭제하라.

Hong Kong government initiated a bill to make Hong Kong "Extradition Act" to repatriate the suspects from Hong Kong to mainland China. As a result, the citizens of Hong Kong began their protests on March 31, 2019. On June 12, 2019, more than 1 million people started to exercise resistance. In the end, the Hong Kong's leader Carrie Lam, gave in to the suspension of the bill indefinitely, succumbing to the wishes of citizens who desire freedom. If the bill were passed, suspects of Hong Kong nationality restrained in Hong Kong would be repatriated to the mainland China against their will and would have been tried under the justice system of the communist state. The cries taking their lives of Hong Kong citizens have protected "liberal" democracy.

The external position of the Chinese Communist Party is to guarantee the "one country, two systems". If the extradition bill were passed, political prisoners in Hong Kong who oppose the autocratic totalitarianism of communism will be repatriated to mainland China where the independence of judiciary is not guaranteed. Obviously, it could be abused as a tool of purge. The attempt to pass an extradition bill reveals that the Chinese Communist Party's guarantee of a "one country, two system." is just an absolute lie. In reality, Hong Kong's autonomy is virtually not acknowledged by eliminating those who oppose mainland China's system by the Chinese Communist Party that does not want it.

Hong Kong's citizens, experiencing the evil intentions of the Chinese Communist Party in 2015, evidently could know their intentions. Causeway Bay Bookstore in Hong Kong had sold books criticizing the Chinese Communist Party, but five related personnel of that bookstore were missing from October to December 2015. The five missing personnel are: Gui Minhai, the major shareholder of a publisher Mighty Current Media who owns the Causeway Bay bookstore; Mr. Lam Wing-Kee, bookshop director of Causeway Bay Bookstore; Mr. Lee Bo(Paul Lee), general manager of Mighty Current Media; Cheung Jiping, job manager, and Lui Bo, shareholder of Mighty Current Media ,who were not lost, but were held in mainland China before being tried. Hong Kong's constitution, the Hong Kong Basic Law, denies the right of the police of mainland China to enforce law in Hong Kong. Nonetheless, Hong Kong residents were shocked when Hong Kong citizens were forced to come to mainland China for trial.

The citizens of Hong Kong, having experienced "freedom", know very well that the trial under the autocratic totalitarianism of communism can’t be guaranteed the independence of judiciary, the fair trial, the rule of law, and even the protection of the suspects. Citizens regardless of age and sex, dressed in black, took a carnation and joined the freedom guard movements courageously, and eventually prevented a controversial extradition bill. They successfully protected the liberal democracy and liberties from autocratic totalitarianism of the powerful Chinese communism.

Christian Liberty Party protecting freedom of the Republic of Korea supports the citizens of Hong Kong, successfully defending liberal democracy, and will pray for the maintenance of liberal democracy in Hong Kong and the freedom of Hong Kong citizens. In addition, Christian Liberty Party also expresses disappointment to Liberty Korea Party claiming right-winged as well as The-Democracy Party and Justice Party only crying for "human rights" and "democracy," but silent about the tearful sacrifice and victory of Hong Kong citizens. Christian Liberty Party strongly urges you Korean parties to abandon the cowardly attitude and join the declaration of support. If not, the noble name "Democracy", "Freedom" and "Justice" should be removed immediately from your party names.
